Every person reaches a point in life where they feel like they are in need of a confidence boost to take them to the next level in their life or career. Finding that confidence can sometimes be difficult when you feel afraid and only see failure on the horizon. At some stage in our lives almost all of us will need to conquer our lack of confidence the question is, how?
Life coaching can spark an increased level of confidence. Sometimes having a person assist you in discovering your confidence within can to be beneficial to personal growth and development. Here are some strategies you can apply to your daily life to give your confidence the ultimate boost.
1. Step out of your comfort zone.
No growth ever comes from being trapped in comfort zone in any relationship or career path. It’s important to challenge yourself and take risks. When you do something you previously thought wasn’t possible you gain confidence and as a result, will push yourself to do more. Doing a small difficult task daily will lead you to something bigger. You will experience growth and will begin to feel unstoppable. You just have to be willing to take the initiative and make that first step.
2. Acknowledge Your Fears.
Having fear in life is normal. The important thing is to not letting it break you down. Coming face-to-face and addressing your fears will help you realize that there is nothing behind fear but your perception of it. Once you change your perception of fear and tackle your fears head on you will discover the power you have within. Take a note pad out and write out what you’re afraid of and what you will do to overcome those fears.
3. Be Assertive.
Part of projecting confidence is knowing when to be assertive. You never know what the outcome of any situation will be unless you ask. If you want something take that bold step and ask for it because your wish may come true.
4. Stop Striving For Perfectionism.
Striving for perfection is the root of self-doubt. Remind yourself that it’s okay to make mistakes and give yourself permission to make them. Not allowing yourself to make mistakes will stunt your growth. Overthinking can do the same.
5. Acknowledge Your Greatness
Pat yourself on the back for a job well done. Self-acknowledgement allows you to become aware of your existing accomplishments and it sets the bar for you to move toward higher goals. Create a list of things that showcase the very best of you and any time you feel like you need motivation look back at it.
6. Discover What Makes You FEEL confident
It can be a song, an outfit or a favorite pair of shoes. Observe yourself for a few days and see what makes you actually FEEL confident inside.
7. Strong Body Language.
Have you ever heard the phrase walk with a purpose? Walking with your head down and slouching gives off the impression that you are timid and low. Practice walking with your head up and shoulders back. Don’t be afraid to smile and make eye contact while socializing.
8. Think Confidently.
Develop an aura of optimism. Train you mind to think of the good in situations no matter how bad you think they are. Focusing on negative outcomes can cause anxiety and stop you from taking action. Envision the results you want and they are likely to happen.
9. Forgive Yourself.
Forgive yourself for anything that you are beating yourself up about. Your past does not determine your future and each day you wake up is an opportunity to start fresh.
